To add an extra bit of ‘Jurassic’ fun ahead of Bath Racecourse’s brand-new Dino Family Raceday this Sunday (15 September), it won’t just be horses racing …. A new addition to the Bath card will be a T-Rex Race at 1.30pm!
A one furlong dash out down the home-straight, up to 10 racegoers dressed in inflatable T-Rex costumers will burst out of the stalls and across the finishing line before the seven thoroughbred races begin in a unique start to Bath Racecourse’s Dino Family Raceday.
Europe’s largest and most realistic animatronic dinosaurs are coming to Bath Racecourse as part of the track’s annual family fun day. A colossal adventure for the entire family to enjoy, the kids will be awestruck when they get to meet T-Rex, Raptors and baby dinosaurs. There will be ‘Ranger Training’ workshops taking place throughout the day, where kids will be guided through Jurassic knowledge and what to do in an emergency dinosaur break out situation. Plus, they’ll be tons of unique dinosaur photo opportunities, a Jurassic craft area, prehistoric face painting, sandpit fossil hunt, inflatables and even a giant egg to climb into!
Alongside the Jurassic fun and T-Rex race, there’ll be seven exciting thoroughbred races, all offering the chance to experience the thrill of horse racing from 2.15pm.

“We’re really looking forward to the brand-new Dino Family Raceday and the T-Rex race will be a really fun addition to the card! We’re looking for up to 10 people to take part, so get your entries in!
“The animatronic dinosaurs are really impressive. Kids will love having their picture taken with them and I’ve heard the Raptor can get a bit mischievous too. As well as the animatronic T-Rex, Raptor and baby dinosaurs, we’ve got Ranger Training workshops, crafts, face painting and inflatables here too; it’s going to be a great fun afternoon for the whole family.”
As always, children under 18 get free entry and all the dino-themed entertainment is included in the ticket price. Grandstand Enclosure Tickets booked in advance cost just £19 or you can snap up a Family Ticket Package for only £40 to include a few extras too.
