Bristolian DJ and music producer Roni Size will wow Bath Racecourse, headlining the racenight with a set on August 18th as part of the Lansdown Live series. Lansdown Live is an events series providing live music and entertainment on race days throughout the spring and summer months, presenting a prime opportunity for both experienced and budding performers alike to showcase their talents in front of a jam-packed crowd.
Roni Size has toured globally and performed at many of the biggest festivals worldwide, including Glastonbury, Coachella, Bestival, Lovebox, EXIT, and Rock Herk and has won International awards such as the Mercury Prize for his ‘New Forms’ album, the Music Producers Guild’s Inspiration Award and he was nominated for Best Dance Act at the UK Festival Awards. Roni has recently re-issued his award-winning album, ‘New Forms’ and has taken it on extensive tours around the UK, Europe, US, Australia and New Zealand.
As someone whose musical journey began locally, at grassroots venues across the south west, and has led on to a successful, international career, Roni is a fitting headliner for Lansdown Live.
“Lansdown Live is all about local and grassroots talent, and what better way to celebrate that than with an artist from the South West, who has experienced the journey to the big-time,” said marketing manager, Tom Bettles. “Roni Size started locally and is now a household name in the music industry. This should inspire plenty of other local artists to pursue their dreams.”
Roni grew up in St. Andrews, Bristol, and added: “I’m really excited to be performing at Bath Racecourse in August, as part of the Lansdown Live series. The whole theme of the series is something very close to my heart, as someone who began their career on the grassroots scene and has since grown and developed their music on a much bigger stage. With any luck, the sun will be shining, and we can look forward to a really special day.”
