Tickets for Bath Racecourse’s hugely popular Light Up Lansdown fireworks display and bonfire night have sold out for the first time-ever.

Taking place tomorrow (Friday 1 November), this year’s fireworks display is set to be even bigger and better than ever before as the display will be set to music for the first time – specifically, favourite songs from some classic Disney movies.

The Bath Racecourse management is advising customers who have tickets to allow extra time to travel to and from the racecourse as the event will be extremely busy. To help ease traffic, the racecourse is encouraging customers to car share where possible and make use of the shuttle bus service. Customers are also being encouraged to ‘Stay & Play’ after the fireworks display finishes to enjoy the funfair, live music, food and drink that continues until the event ends at 9pm to ease the flow of traffic exiting the racecourse.

Maddie Wright, Head of Sales and Marketing at Bath Racecourse, said:

“We’ve been blown away by how popular this year’s Light Up Lansdown fireworks and bonfire night has been. Ticket sales have been more than 200% ahead of previous years since they went on sale and to sell out before we open the gates is a huge achievement.

“The event will be busy and we’re working very hard to ensure people’s journey to and from the racecourse is as smooth as possible. We’ve appointed a specialist car-parking team who are putting in place a robust traffic management plan to help the flow of cars and doubled our investment into stewarding. Even with this increased investment, we would like to encourage customers to car share where possible and use the dedicated bus service from Bath city centre. A huge challenge is that the majority of customers want to leave the racecourse straight after the fireworks display at 7.45pm; all the bars, food stalls, funfair and live music will continue until 9pm when the event finishes and we’re strongly encouraging customers to ‘Stay & Play’ rather than rush to leave the racecourse to help stagger people’s exit.

“Above all though, we hope people have a great night and enjoy all the entertainment, delicious bonfire night food and drink and of course, the spectacular fireworks display set to hit songs from Disney movies!”
