The BHA has today confirmed that the fixtures due to be staged at Bath on the weekend on September 10th and 11th will now take place elsewhere

Some areas of the course at Bath are still described as 'Hard', and further remedial work is also being undertaken. In order to to give the final two scheduled turf fixtures of the season at Bath the best possible chance of taking place, it has been deemed the most appropriate course of action to take this early decision.

The fixture on Saturday 10 will move to Ffos Las, and the Sunday 11 meeting will move to Chepstow. This will require some race programming changes which will be updated on Racing Admin, but the BHA can confirm that the two Class 2 events originally scheduled for Sunday 11 will go ahead. The Bath Summer Sprint Series Final Handicap will be run at Chepstow on Sunday 11, whilst the Bath Summer Series Stayers' Final Handicap will be run on the Saturday 10 at Ffos Las.

Mark Spincer, Managing Director of ARC's Racing Division, said: “For obvious reasons it has been an incredibly difficult summer at Bath, and with very little further rain forecast, we have once again taken the decision to move upcoming September fixtures to alternative venues.

“The finals of the Bath Sprint and Stayers’ Series, both worth £25,000, are popular races which a large number of horses have qualified for, so we wanted to make sure that we could reschedule them at Chepstow and Ffos Las and give connections certainty and appropriate preparation time.”

“We will be in touch with trainers and owners of qualified runners in both races at the beginning of next week with more details.”
