3.30pm Bath S.P GREEN & CO BATH SOMERSETSHIRE HANDICAP (CLASS 3)  1m

POWER OF DARKNESS looks to have strong claims of winning this race on Ladies Day at Bath which would be very fitting as Female rider Hayley Turner takes the ride.

I saw this horse win last year one afternoon at Salisbury and was a horse I wanted to follow this year.  Having been unlucky not to win on his debut this year at Newmarket he did disappoint after but it’s very interesting the horse wear a hood for the first time at Bath.

The hood is an aid to help horses relax during the races so they don’t get too keen, a trait the horse has shown in the past and if the horse does settle, he will be hard to beat as he remains a horse in this company that could be still well handicaped. With the hood and the women touch in Hayley Turner I wouldn’t be looking anywhere else for the winner.

WAHASH could go well for the Richard Hannon stable who ran at the Derby meeting at Epsom last time in a hot Class 2 Handicap. This looks much claimer waters and very interesting that he was second to POWER OF DARKNESS in that Salisbury race previously mentioned.  It’s been quite a while since he last won a race though and is started to look frustrating.

Trainer Mark Johnston loves a winner at Bath and has hired Jockey John Egan to ride his RUFUS KING.  He has been finding life hard of late in better races on graded tracks and might be well placed here to go well. Well drawn
